One paper, chosen on purpose
Every PostersPosted print is produced on the same stock: 200gsm satin poster paper. There is no finish selector at checkout, because a finish menu mostly moves the decision onto the customer without making the print better.
200gsm satin is heavy enough to feel like an art print, light enough to post safely, and has a soft sheen that lifts colour without turning the poster into a mirror under a ceiling light.
How satin behaves on a real wall
Under a single overhead light, gloss paper throws a hard reflection straight back at you and you end up reading the bulb instead of the artwork. Satin scatters that light, so a poster hung opposite a window or under a downlight stays readable from any angle.
It also holds ink well. Deep blacks stay black rather than going grey, and skin tones in a photo poster keep their warmth - the two things that make cheap prints look cheap.
Unframed, a 200gsm sheet stays flat against the wall instead of curling at the corners after a fortnight. Framed, it sits properly behind glass without buckling.
GSM in plain English
170gsm is the thin end of poster paper - fine for a temporary print, but it flops if you hang it unframed.
200gsm is what we use. It holds itself flat in a frame, ships safely (A5 and A4 flat, A3 and larger rolled in a tube), and does not curl after a week on the wall.
250gsm and above starts to feel like card. Lovely for a small A5 keepsake, but overkill and heavier to post for an A2 wall piece.
What this means when you order
You choose the size - A5, A4, A3, A2 or A1 - and the paper is already decided. Every size ships on the same 200gsm satin, so a set of prints ordered at different times will match on the wall.
If you are printing your own photo, the paper is not the limiting factor: file resolution is. Aim for roughly 300 dpi at print size (about 3500 x 4900 px for A3) and the satin stock will do the rest.
