Artwork help

A short guide to preparing files that print beautifully. If you are unsure about anything, send the file over on WhatsApp and our studio will check it for you before you order.

The quick version

  • • Upload JPG, PNG or PDF at the highest quality your device can export.
  • • Target 300 dpi at print size — modern phone photos are usually more than enough for A3.
  • • Keep important content 5 mm inside the edges so nothing gets trimmed.
  • • Upload in sRGB colour and expect prints to look slightly less vibrant than your screen.

FAQ

What file formats do you accept?

JPG, PNG and PDF work best. For photos, JPG at the highest quality setting is ideal. For designs with text or flat colour, PDF or PNG keeps edges crisp.

What resolution should my file be?

Aim for 300 dpi at print size. As a rough guide: A4 = 2480 × 3508 px, A3 = 3508 × 4961 px, A2 = 4961 × 7016 px, A1 = 7016 × 9933 px. Phone photos taken on modern iPhones and Android devices comfortably reach A2.

Do I need to add bleed?

Only if you are supplying a print-ready PDF. Add 3 mm bleed on every edge and keep important content 5 mm inside the trim line. If you upload a JPG or PNG we handle bleed for you.

RGB or CMYK?

Upload in sRGB. Our print workflow converts to the printer profile for the best possible colour match.

Why does my print look darker than my screen?

Screens are backlit; paper reflects light. If your image is very dark to begin with, brighten mid-tones by 10 – 15% before uploading.
